Skills!

Friday February 16th, we will be hosting a Skills Night featuring three different events!

The evening will start with Black Line Blackjack, followed by Around the World in 4 Ways and will conclude with a Doubles Triathlon.
Each will have an individual ticket, so you do not need to compete in all events. However, the Doubles Triathlon consists of 3 different disciplines within the Triathlon and each Doubles team must compete in all disciplines.
*You may not substitute teammates for different disciplines.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, December 18th.
The schedule for the evening and start times for the events will depend on the number of sign ups. At this time, we plan to begin the evening at 6pm.

We can’t wait to kick off the weekend with this awesome evening of Skills!

Black Line Blackjack

This is a spin on the traditional Blackjack game that we all know and love! The objective with this 10 throw game is to get as close to 21 without going over. If you go over at any point, you are eliminated from the heat. Standard scoring, clutch is always live and a drop is negative 4. A stuck 0 is just that, no points. Here’s the twist, you must keep one foot completely behind the black line for the entirety of your throw. Your foot may leave the ground, but it cannot break the plane of the black line. If your foot crosses the line or breaks the plane of it at any point during your throw, you will receive a negative 4 for your throw. A foot fault is the equivalent to a drop in this game.
Throws can be completed with both feet behind the black line, but all throws must be one rotation.
Black Line Blackjack will have throwers competing in heats of 4 with the top score(s) advancing until there is one final heat of 4.

Around The World in 4 Ways!

Another heat style competition, this event has competitors using 4 different throws to travel across the board and complete their trip around the world. An additional wrinkle to this game is that throwers will have to clutch in and out in order to complete their trip on the board. A thrower must use the same axe for the entirety of their heat; the only exception being if their axe breaks. *please note that all throws, including 2 spin, must be completed within the confines of the arena. Our arenas are 22ft in length*

Clutch In = 1 spin from the red line
Left 1 = Underhand
Left 3 = 1.5 spin
Bullseye = 2 spin
Right 3 = 1.5 spin
Right 1 = underhand
Clutch Out = 1 spin from the red line

Around The World in 4 Ways will have throwers competing in heats of 4 with the top score(s) advancing until there is one final heat of 4.

Doubles Triathlon

This event will feature 3 different disciplines, each with their own win points assigned to teams based on their placement. The team with the highest cumulative win points across all 3 disciplines will be crowned the champion of the Doubles Triathlon. It is possible to win individual disciplines but lose the Triathlon. The disciplines will include Hatchet Doubles, Big Axe Doubles and Over/Under Doubles. Over/Under Doubles is a when one member of the team throws underhand and the other throws overhand (1 spin). Win points will be assigned to the top 4 teams from each discipline, trickling down from 1st place to 4th. Beyond 4th place, a certain amount of win points will be assigned to each team depending on what heat they are eliminated in.  In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be total score from all axes thrown across all disciplines.
